What is the SLA for Azure SQL Database, the standard tier?
Nothing is mentioned in the official documentation (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support/legal/sla/sql-database/v1_5/)
Question has been asked already (https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/6dedf616-691c-4d02-84b3-b92341f0845a/sql-basic-standard-and-premium-is-it-covered-by-sla?forum=ssdsgetstarted) but it was in 2014 so it's maybe time for an update :)
SLA for Azure SQL Database standard tier at least 99.99%.

Azure SQL Database Business Critical or Premium tiers not configured for Zone Redundant Deployments, General Purpose, Standard, or Basic tiers, or Hyperscale tier with two or more replicas have an availability guarantee of at least 99.99%.
But nothing about GP/Standard with just 1 database (no replica) - or are the two or more replicas only relating to Hyperscale tier?

What is the SLA for Azure SQL Database, Standard Tier, with zero replicas?
From SLA for Azure SQL Database | Microsoft Azure:
Azure SQL Database General Purpose, Standard, Basic tiers, or Hyperscale tier with two or more replicas have an availability guarantee of at least 99.99%.
Standard and General Purpose always have 0 HA replicas.

Thanks for the quick reply. I've read that line in the documentation several times today. It's not written very clearly. I think what you're saying is that the "two or more replicas" part of the sentence, only applies to the Hyperscale tier. Therefore you should consider General Purpose, Standard AND Basic tiers are all 99.99%
It could be worded this way to be more clear: "Azure SQL Database Hyperscale tier with two or more replicas, General Purpose, Standard, and Basic tiers, have an availability guarantee of at least 99.99%.
Or the "Hyperscale tier with two or replicas being 99.99%" part could be added to the next line in the document, instead of being lumped in with General Purpose, Standard and Basic tiers.
Existing next line: Azure SQL Database Hyperscale tier with one replica has an availability guarantee of at least 99.95% and 99.9% for zero replicas.
Possible change: Azure SQL Database Hyperscale tier *with two or more replicas have an availability guarantee of at least 99.99%, * with one replica at least 99.95% and 99.9% for zero replicas.
Also, it appears that I can add replicas to my Standard tier Azure SQL Database in the Azure portal, protecting them from a regional outage.
