I installed 4gb of ram and only shows 3gb usable  on my desktop.my motherboard specs say i can use 16gb max

    Hi

    Some of the installed RAM will always be reserved for the Hardware on the computer.

    Press the WinKey+R to display the Run dialog.

    Type  resmon  in the Open box and click OK. This will open the Resource Monitor.

    Click the Memory Tab at the top to display the details of how the installed memory is being used.
