Recently my start ups are taking longer and have gone from 1 minute start ups to 2 and even 3 minutes. I use Norton for years as my Anti-Virus and Malware Protection and it has a start up manager. I noticed a lot of stuff and programs I didn't need. I do not know what programs MUST run or what should run and those that should be off. Ill make a list of them and suggest what should be off, on, and even delayed. Thank you.

Programs that have a medium resource usage:

  • Spotify

Programs that have a low resource usage:

  • AsusWebStorage
  • ASUS_MATray.exe
  • ATKOSD2
  • ATK Media
  • HControlUser
  • Wireless Console 3
  • Java Update Scheduler
  • iolo System Component
  • Single LUN Icon Utility for VID 058F PID 6366
  • ETD Control Center
  • Microsoft ® Windows Based Script Host
  • NVIDIA Backend
  • igfxTray Module
  • hkcmd Module
  • persistence Module
  • ASUS Product Register Program
  • Spotify WebHelper
  • iTunesHelper

Programs that have no displayed resource usage:

  • AsusVibe Application

These are the EXACT ways the programs are displayed. The other information displayed is Community Usage (useless) and the ON/OFF and Delay Start. My computer specs are below if needed.

Computer Specifications (If needed):

Hard Drive (OS): 279 GB Capacity

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHz

Memory: 8.00 GB

System: 64 bit OS

Windows 7 Home Premium

Most if not all of the low usage do not have to be running but I suspect since they are low usage they are not the problem.

In order to diagnose your problem we need to run Windows performance toolkit the instructions for which can be found in this wiki

If you have any questions feel free to ask

Please run the trace when you are experiencing the problem

    To ZigZag3143:

What scenario did you want me to run? And what boxes should be selected? Btw, when you said that most of the low usage programs could be off which ones? Like you said there low usage but when I start up it they all add up so I want to try with eliminating the theory first.

    To Gerry C J Cornell:

So I did the System Information and the link is right here (https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=F3280127904334E1!1897&authkey=!AEjh51cTU1bWAlA&ithint=file%2ctxt)

As for the Event Viewer Log, that link is also here (https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=F3280127904334E1!1898&authkey=!ABdGCs7aPCe\_P8s&ithint=file%2cevtx). Btw, this is my first time so if any complications a rise I will fix them.

Please restart your computer and allow 20 minutes for the system to run before uploading information. When examining Event Viewer log files many, not all, problems show in the period immediately after the computer has been booted.

Please provide a copy of your System Information file. Type System Information in the Search Box above the start Button and press the ENTER key (alternative is Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information). Select File, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. Do not place the cursor within the body of the report before exporting the file. The system creates a new System Information file each time system information is accessed. You need to allow a minute or two for the file to be fully populated before exporting a copy. Please upload the file to your OneDrive, share with everyone and post a link here. Reports in normal mode preferred. Please say if the report has been obtained in safe mode. If the report is in a language other than English, please state the language.

Please upload and share with everyone a fresh copy of your System log from your Event Viewer to your One Drive and post a link here. It helps to avoid confusion if you remove any earlier copies of the log files from your OneDrive.

To access the System log select Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, from the list in the left side of the window expand Windows Logs and select System. Place the cursor on System, select Action from the Menu and Save All Events as (the default evtx file type) and give the file a name. Do not provide filtered files. Do not place the cursor in the list of reports before selecting Action from the menu. Do not clear logs whilst you have a continuing problem.
