I have the same issue, although Win 10 on MSI GT72S 6QF. Did you manage to sort the problem by combining two audio in connectors?
Microphone not working for Steelseries Siberia v2 (WINDOWS 8.1)
Hello,
I came home today to find out that my mic wasn't working on my Steelseries Siberia v2's. I've had this headset for about 10-11 months and it hasn't had any problems so far. I can confirm that it's not the headset's problem, but Windows' problem. I have this headset plugged into the rear panel and Windows detects it. Audio sounds great. However, the microphone doesn't work at all. I've tried to test it using "Listen to this device" but all I hear is white noise. The headset itself is UNMUTED and Windows detects it, yet it does not generate any sound. I've tried using it on different programs (i.e TeamSpeak 3, Skype, Steam) yet it does not produce sound. Windows and all my drivers are up to date, I've tried using front panel, tried updating mic drivers (which Windows said were all up to date since there aren't any additional drivers included with the Siberia v2's) and testing another headset on my computer. I've tried my Razer headphones on this PC and it was able to produce sound. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

2014-12-23T07:19:16+00:00 Hi Matt,
Thank you for keeping us updated on the issue.
This seems to be an issue with drivers either not getting configured properly or not installed.
Have you tried installing the drivers for your headset from the link provided by John in the above post?
If not, I suggest you to install the drivers and see if the issue persists.
Hope this helps, get back to us if you need further assistance with Windows.

2014-12-18T04:03:07+00:00 Hi Matt,
Welcome to Microsoft Community forum. Let me assist you with your concern.
- Does your headphone have USB or audio jack port?
- Did you check your headphone microphone works fine on another computer?
Since you mentioned Razer headphones works fine. The issue could be with Steelseries Siberia v2 audio settings or might be with drivers. As you said there are no drivers for this device. Based on my research I was able to find the USB drivers for your headphone from Steelseries Siberia v2 official support site. Based on you exact model download and install the drivers from this link and check if it helps.

Follow these Steps to run Playing Audio Troubleshooter in Windows 8.1
a. Press “Windows Key + W”.
b. Then type “Troubleshooter” in the Search box and hit enter.
c. Select “Hardware and Sound” from the Troubleshooter Window.
d. Select “Playing Audio” under Sound option.
e. Follow the On Screen instructions.
If issue persist, proceed to next method.
Method 2: Follow these steps:
a. Close all back applications, especially, Sound Recorder or other multimedia applications.
b. At Windows Start Tile screen, move the cursor or touch lower right screen & bring out the "Search" function.
c. At the "Search" panel, look for "Control Panel" and then launch it.
d. At the "Control Panel", look for "Sound" and then launch it.
e. Click on the Recording tab.
f. Select the recording source, for example, Line In 2/Mic 2, and then click Set Default. Recording device will be marked with a green tick mark.
g. Adjust the input level if you have difficulty recording. Click Properties, and then click on Levels.
Hope this helps. If you need further assistance with Windows, let us know and will be glad to help.

2015-04-14T18:38:12+00:00 Hi, I'm replying to this thread as I am having the exact same problem with the Steelseries Siberia V2 headset, I tried downloading the USB drivers from the Steelseries websiter, however as mine lacks a USB connection as well it did not even allow me to install it. I have tried the same things as Matteo fruitlessly. I'm trying to use my headset on a recently acquired computer, however when I try them on my old laptop they work as usual with no problem.

2014-12-18T23:51:46+00:00 Hi John,
Thanks for replying. My SteelSeries Siberia V2 is not a USB headset as it includes 2 3.5 mm jacks (audio/mic). I've tried the headset on 2-3 other computers as well and it works fine on all of them. The audio is the only thing that is working with his headset; the microphone is detected in the Recording tab under "Sound" but fails to produce any type of noise other than white noise. As I've said in the previous post, I've tried:
- Clicking "Properties", navigating to the "Listen" tab and checking **"Listen to this device."**which only produces white noise.
- Using this headset on a computer with similar specifications and 2-3 computers with different specifications. The headset is working on all computers except mine.
- Re-adjusting "Microphone Boost" and "Microphone" levels.
The "Troubleshooting" application did not detect any issues with my headset/microphone either, as I've tried troubleshooting "Playing Audio","Recording Audio", and "Hardware and Devices".
Thanks in advance.
