Hi, Pie Yie. We understand the situation. However, we are unable to guarantee what causes the issue. For now, you may still try visiting a Care Point near your place as suggested by 93tid. The repair cost will depend on the technician's assessment. Also, be reminded that files on the phone will be deleted during the repair process. We'll appreciate letting us know the outcome.
LUMIA 1020 unable to find a bootable option error. press any key to shut down
I've read all the thread about "unable to find a bootable option error. press any key to shut down" , some said the problems can be fix by running the recovery tools (i tried) yet my phone only can be recognized for a moment then at the of installation part its said failed to recognized device.
is it have to do with the broken OEM / Motehrboard circuit inside the phone??
my phone just out of warranty for 2 months, and with that i'm aware that the cost of fix it would be expensive here (Malaysia). I love that phone so much, with the great camera and user friendly touch plus I spent a lots to have it.
can someone confirmed with me the cost ( I'm from Malaysia) of fix it and may i know whether the goods (OEM/Motherboard) is still under new warranty after i changed the part that broken/damage from the Nokia/Microsoft centre.
Any suggestion to solved this problems would be appreciate.Thank You

2015-10-10T19:31:39+00:00 Hi Pie Yie, I have a 1020 which is also bricked with the same error as yours. I have also went to Nokia Care Center to get a price quote to fix the problem and as you experienced yourself, they gave me a similar answer. They told me that the total cost to repair (incl. replacement parts) would almost be the same as a new 1020.
This 1020 was used by my sister who, after my lengthy persuasion, decided to spend a good amount of fortune to acquire it. It is with great sadness I have to inform that she has departed to Android since.
I am still going to check to my local phone repair shop (non-Nokia/Microsoft) to see if they have the knowledge on jtag-ging a 1020 and see if they can flip the switch on the memory protection mode. I have to say that based on other net researching, there is very little chance it would revive the 1020.

2015-09-17T10:23:41+00:00 thanks 93tid,
btw i asked the nokia care/ microsoft Malaysia on the phone, not sure either the person on the phone really know abt the warranty or not but what he said " that he suggested me to buy a new one instead of repairing the phone because they won't give a new warranty for the new OEM/Motherboard.
Who from the other country,is it true that they won't give a new warranty eventhough we had the phone repaired from their own manufacture??
And he said :For the price of repairing the phone, it will be the same amount of buying new one..
(its too expensive. I thought it would be half of the price because its only 2 months out of warranty)
so far seems there no other solutions, I'm so disappointed with Nokia/Microsoft because of this kind of error software issues, guess a lots of people outside there also having the same problem :(
