Installing Avery Design Pro 5.0 limited Edition

After I upgraded my motherboard began re-installing programs on my Win7, Pro SP1 desktop system, I have encountered a seemingly un-surmountable problem with the above program.  While the installation completes, when I attempt to run the program I get n error message as follows: "Error initializing the application. Demo configuration error 1. Please reinstall  application", with the only options being to either close the dialogue box or choose OK, either of which closes the dialogue box and returns me to my desktop.  This program is Freeware, rather old, but a very good label maker and I have it running on two other OS's that are identical to the one in question.  The only difference is that the MB on the one I'm having problems with is much newer that the others.  I have tried to research this and have found no solutions and the manufacturer is of no help.  I can install and run this app on almost any machine except the one in question.  Need suggestions.  Thanks.

    Tried Compatibility Mode yet?

    See http://www.avery.com/vgnfiles/OP/en_us/Help%20Center/staticfiles/DesignPro%20for%20PC%20Help%20for%20Windows7.pdf

Do the other Windows 7 systems have the identical antivirus and other security software installed?

Other standard troubleshooting:  Uninstall and reinstall in a "Clean Boot" configuration.

Starting in "Clean Boot" should prevent your antivirus and other security software from running, but check just in case.  If any security software is running, disable it or uninstall it (after making sure that you have any needed license key for reinstallation).

Thanks for the suggestion.  In fact, I intended to try that this morning anyway and it DOES run in compatibility with XP, SP3. While that's kind of weird since the same app runs perfectly on 2 other machines I own with the same OS where compatibility mode is not an issue, I'm good.  If it ain't broke, I don't try to fix it.  THANKS A TON!
