Latest Update causing Crossfire issues:

Version 1511 (OS Build 10586.122)

System Specs:

(NOT OVERCLOCKED AT ALL)

ax1200i psu

Sabertooth 990 mobo

fx9590 cpu (h100i cooled )

2xR9 380 series (390) gpu 4gb RAM each (Nitro fan cooling)

4x4 AMD R9 Radeon RAM

Asus 144hz monitor (DVI cable connection)

So since the last update I've had a LOT of issues in games with graphics (1920x1080 set to 144hz refresh rate):

Mechwarrior Online: Stuttering so badly it's practically unplayable

Star Wars the Old Republic: Upon Launching the game Black Screen then crash to desktop, game still running, click icon on taskbar repeat black screen crash to desktop.  (Complete reinstall of game fixed this issue but game now stutters like MWO and this is on medium to low graphics settings.  much lower performance than I had been running it at before just fine.)

ARK: Rendering and some stuttering.

The list goes on but I'm sure you get the picture.

The real tell will be next week when The Division launches.  I played in both betas.  Used a custom graphics setup of basically high settings (some medium a few as high as ultra) had solid fps without stuttering of 70+ and all in all the game played smooth and amazing.

I understand the last Win 10 update addressed some issues for SLI and I don't know if those fixes have anything to do with these with problems for Crossfire but perhaps that is a good place to look.

If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Xiltyn,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft community.

I understand your concerned. Let me help you to fix the issue.

Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. Follow the below methods.

    Method 1

I recommend you to uninstall/reinstall the display adapter driver and check. Follow the below steps:

    1. Press Windows key + X and click on Device manager.
    2. Locate for display adapter and click on it to expand.
    3. Right click on the device and click on uninstall.
    4. Once you are done uninstalling the driver, restart the computer. It will automatically install the generic display adapter driver.

If this doesn’t help to fix the issue. I suggest you to update the display adapter driver. Skip step3 from the above steps and right click on the device and click on update.

    Method 2.

If the above method did not help to fix the issue, I would suggest you to****go to the below link, select appropriate graphic model number and  download the latest graphics driver. If the graphics driver is not available for Windows 10, try installing the available driver in compatibility mode and check.

    http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

    1. Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties.
    2. Select Compatibility tab.
    3. Check Run this program in Compatibility mode.
    4. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

Hope it helps. Keep posting us with the status we will be glad to help you.

I should have waited a bit before posting this because right after I did I remembered that I was using an older Catalyst driver as the new Crimson was having some issues.  I just installed the new Crimson drivers and am going to go through and see if this new update works better with the Crimson driver for crossfire.

Thanks for the reply http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/profile/cc5b062f-fbc6-4803-a783-8aebb6eae693[Billion Debbarma.](http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/profile/cc5b062f-fbc6-4803-a783-8aebb6eae693 "Billion Debbarma")

Yeah I already cleaned off the old driver, even restarted in safe mode first to do so.  Then after restarted again and let the generic drivers run my monitor while installing a fresh newest drivers from amd.  This has improved the situation a little but as I posted above I'm still seeing these issues in all the listed games.

Device Manager shows the video cards as having the most recent driver and operating properly.

The amd link you provided is exactly where I got the new driver from.  The latest is the one I am running now after having cleaned off the old driver in safe mode, and as I said it has improved the situation (less stuttering, little better rendering, etc) but the issues are still there just not quite as bad as they were with the old driver.   Mechwarrior for instance is actually playable now just not enjoyably with the stuttering that is still happening.

I've even turned off crossfire and tested each video card seperately to rule out that it was a hardware issue.  Crossfire on or off doesn't allieviate the issues nor one or the other video cards.  Less fps of course without crossfire but that's to be expected.

I don't currently have a freesync monitor or I'd be able to report if that had an effect on these issues or not.  Looking at getting one hopefully in the next few days however.

Anyways any other ideas?  Any way I can be of help to diagnose what's going on?

Yeah doesn't seem to be an AMD driver side issue.  Even with newest driver getting the same issues.
