Direct X Issue!!!!
I recently upgraded from Win 7 to 10. Earlier, I had Dx 11......after installation, it got degraded to 10.1. Now when i try to installing Dx 11, it says "DirectX setup has determined that a newer or equivalent version of DirectX has been installed already. No installation is necessary."
AND.....how do I get Dx 12??????

2016-03-09T12:57:58+00:00 This is from Microsoft
In previous OS's the dxdiag tool reported the DirectX level as the highest level that the OS supported. In Windows 10 that was changed to show the highest Direct X level that the video card driver installed supports. There has been some confusion in the forums with customers thinking that Windows 10 does not have DirectX 12.
Your best bet is to refer to (NVidia\AMD\Intel) sites to see what cards\drivers support full DX12.

2016-03-09T12:58:30+00:00 Hi,
Thank you for posting on Microsoft Communities.
I will be glad to help you with the issue you have with the computer. I understand the frustration when things don't work the way it should.
What is the version of DirextX installed on the computer?
To use the DirectX Diagnostic Tool to determine the version of DirectX that is installed on your computer, follow these steps:
- Open Run.
- Type dxdiag, and then click OK.
- On the System tab, note the version of DirectX that is displayed on the DirectX Version line.
- On the various tabs, check the version information for each DirectX file.
- When you are finished checking file versions, click Exit.
If Windows cannot find the dxdiag program, DirectX version 5.0 or an earlier version of DirectX is installed on your computer. If this is the case, download and install the latest version of DirectX.
To download the latest version of DirectX, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
