Recently got new desktop with Windows 10. Previously had Vipre & would like to know do I still need it? Or can I unsubscribe?

Thanks.

Windows 10 is already has Anti-Malware software inside it which is Windows Defender. You may continue and use Windows Defender or if you want to use Vipre, then contact their support and make sure you get the version which is compatible with Windows 10 and install it, in this case Windows Defender will be disabled.

Some users prefer the free MS programs such as Windows Defender(WD) on Win 10 while others prefer a third party program. Remember that if you install a third party antimalware program that Windows Defender will be disabled to prevent software conflicts and other potential issues.

Here is some reading material that you may find to be of interest:

If you wish to use WD see http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/getstarted-protect-your-pc[http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/getstarted-protect-your-pc](http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/getstarted-protect-your-pc)

    And

Thanks - in the opinion of people more experienced than I am, is Windows Defender as effective as Vipre.
