reinstalling HP support Assistant On Windows 8.1

I uninstalled my HP support Assistant because it quit working. I went to the HP website for the support assistant and downloaded and installed SP 7456.EXE. The download indicated a successful installation.  When I click on the

shortcut icon on my desktop it does not open.  When looking at the compatibility troubleshooter, it does not list 8.1

to run in the compatibility mode.  Unfortunately, I did not realize that I could not reinstall the latest hp support assistant to Windows 8.1.  Is there someway I can make the installation work?

    I finally got the HP Support Assistant reinstalled.  It does not work though.  I am not sure if it is because I have Windows 8.1.  I click on the icons and it does not open.  I guess I will not be able to use it for updates and to diagnose my computer for problems.

    If anyone has something else I can do other than do nothing, I would appreciate it.  Thanks you

    Hi,

    You will have to ask HP these questions about their Support Assistant as it is their software, not Microsoft's.

    Or you can also ask in the HP Support Forums.
