Microsoft sculpt ergonomic desktop - keyboard in not connecting

Yesterday arrived my Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop I ordered from Amazon.

After unboxing and installing it i found that keyboard is not connecting with my computer. Transmitter installs correctly and mouse is working well, but keyboard is not working at all. I tried to connect it in the different USB ports, every time is the same. Windows device manager shows that device is properly installed and working.

And of course i removed tapes from the batteries ;) And tried with another batteries.

I tried to troubleshoot, install and reinstall every possible way but it just won`t work. If you take a look at this link you see that there are other people with this problem: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows\_7-hardware/microsoft-scuplt-wireless-keyboard-does-not-work/3a523626-0bce-4f57-be51-6af4e4089beb?msgId=6ef98032-b87e-4ed5-b3ee-238dd9ac1c0e

I tried every solution offered by microsoft over there but still no luck.

My computer specs: Samsung ATIV Book 8 laptop, Windows 8 64-bit operating system.

Any ideas how to get this thing to work?

My keyboard stopped working after a wipe over to clean it.

After much troubleshooting and little progress I discovered a number of the top row function keys had become stuck down under the keyboard case. A little jiggle to free them up and it was working again.

    I  found this very useful.

A week ago I began experiencing trouble while using an Excel spreadsheet.  It began to flick uncontrollably.  Then I encountered the same problem with Word.  Finally I  discovered that I was unable to capitalise "c".

After reading this post I  checked and found two keys in the top row stuck: the loud volume key and calculation key. They were both last pressed while I was working on my spreadsheet.

Presuming that the keyboard had been continuously transmitting for several days, I replaced the batteries and hey presto: it is fully functional!

Thank You!!! You just saved me from replacing my keyboard. I like this keyboard and was upset about the malfunction. My Scroll Lock button was stuck.
