I see other posts of audio driver problems but don't see any resolution/s.  Anyone have an answer of why this happened is it a virus or something??

    Hi,

With the description, I understand that the audio drivers have disappeared from your Windows 7 machine. I will certainly help you in getting this issue fixed.

I would like to inform you that while installing or uninstalling any program sometimes the audio drivers/sound drivers uninstall or get corrupt. Let’s follow below mentioned steps and check if that helps:

Step 1 : Run the Audio Troubleshooter

You may try running the built in Audio troubleshooter and check if it identifies any issues and able to fix it. Access the link below and follow the steps to troubleshoot audio problems.

Step 2 : U ninstall the Audio drivers

If the issue persists, you may uninstall the Audio drivers from device manager and programs and feature completely and reinstall the latest drivers for your sound card to check if it helps you fix the issue.

To uninstall from Programs and features, follow the steps below:

    a. Click on start.

    b. In the start search box type programs and features and press enter.

    c. In the programs and feature window, scroll down to Audio sound drivers and uninstall it.

While uninstalling the drivers from the device manager make sure you follow the steps below:

    a. Click on Start.

    b. Access Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager.

    c. Open Device Manager and expand Sound, Video and Game controller.

    d. Right click on the device and uninstall the device.

While uninstalling the device, make sure you place a check mark against "Delete the driver software for this device".

Also you may try to update the drivers for your sound card and keyboard from device manager and check if it helps. Access the link below and follow the steps to update drivers.
