How to download pics from Nikon Coolpix 126 to computer?

J.DD gave you the best answer.  Buy yourself a memory card reader and use it.  I recommend you do NOT connect your camera to your computer.  Simply remove the memory card from the camera.  Insert the memory card in the memory card reader.  Then insert the memory card reader in any USB port on your computer.  At that point the memory card reader is just like any other USB memory stick.  Simply open the storage device on your computer and drag and drop the pictures into your Pictures folder.

You can buy a memory card reader in the same places you buy memory cards and they usually cost well under $20.  They are portable (can be used on any computer), do not require any installation and quite reliable.  Also, very portable.  No need to carry software and cable to be able to remove pictures to another computer should you be travelling.
