How to uninstall Windows Live Mail 2012 from my Win 10 upgrade?

Old title: Win Live Mail

I am unable to figure out how to uninstall Windows Live Mail 2012 from my Win 10 upgrade. I was convinced that WLM wouldn't work with Win 10 so I installed Thunderbird which I am very happy with. WLM attempts to open now and then and I'd love to uninstall it. The Windows Essentials help site is no help. Thank you.

Hello Robert,

We realize your requirement in this regard.

Windows Live Mail is part of Windows Live Essentials, a suite of free programs for photos, movies, instant messaging, and more. The programs are downloaded together, but can be uninstalled separately. To uninstall Windows Live Mail,

  1. Open Programs and Features by right-clicking on Start button and then select Programs and Features.
  2. In the Uninstall or change program list, click Windows Live Essentials, and then click Uninstall/Change.
  3. Click Remove one or more Windows Live programs.
  4. Select the Mail that you want to uninstall, and then click Uninstall.
  5. Follow the on-screen instruction to remove Windows Live Mail from your computer.

Note: To completely remove Windows Live Essentials, select all the Windows Live programs.

    Just to confirm, do you receive any errors when the uninstalling process stops? If there is, may we know the message?

    What actions can you perform on the computer when the process stops?

    I have tried this a number of times and every time the uninstall hangs at 29%. What now ?

    Thank you for what worked like the perfect answer. Not yet being very familiar with the Win 10 start button, I was surprised to learn about it's increased functionality via your assistance with the program uninstall.
