I need to install local printer on many computers via USB port. But when I install Olivetti driver for that model printer Driver before ending driver ask you to physical connect USB to your printer and only in that case windows create virtual printer port USB001. If I continue without physical connection and later try to add printer I do not have virtual printer port USB001. I try

deferent

thing, install regularly drivers put USB when hi asked, then install printer with usb001 and things works perfectly. Then export registry key from that printer and import on another machine, and edit values on key and put correct computer name. Virtual port appears when I try to install printer but don't work. My question is how to manually add USB001 virtual printer port in W7 and then use this port to install printer.

thank you in advance for any sugestion

My  question was is there a way to create manually virtual port USB 001, or how to export from a computer that has one, file from registy and  to import it to another computer. Solutions such as add printer port through control panel - printer properties, add printer is not solving the issue.

Thanks in advance to all of you who can provide an advice.

I researched this issue several years ago but can't find my notes.

My vague recollection is to do the following:

    • Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\inf
    • Right-click usbprint.inf and select "Install"

It could be usbport.inf instead, but I don't think so.

    Hi,

As you have stated that when you connect the printer to computer through Via USB, Windows create a virtual printer port USB 001. if you continue without the physical connection and later you try to add the printer it doesn't have the virtual port USB001 to connect printer.
