You are using an unsupported command-line flag: --extensions-on-chrome-urls. Stability and security will suffer.

I keep getting the following  message in a mustard coloured box under the URL when I open Chrome.

'You are using an unsupported command-line flag: --extensions-on-chrome-urls. Stability and security will suffer.'

Is it serious? How do I stop it showing please?

    Like this:

Somehow the shortcut to the Chrome executable has been outfitted with extra parameter (how do you suppose that happened).

Find the icon/shortcut where you are launching Chrome (maybe under All Programs), right click it and choose Properties and look at the shortcut Properties Target box:

    Yours probably looks like this:

    Remove the part that says:

    "--extensions-on-chrome-urls"

Then click OK to save the changes, closing the dialog box and launch Chrome again.

After reading some in the Chrome forums that is the way I was able to reproduce the issue but there are other ways too.

Since your issue is not with Windows 7 (this community) why don't you ask about it in the Chrome community where their experts hand out.

    That community is here:

Hopefully when yo find the solution you will come back here and tell is how you did it!
