Black and White 2 on Windows 10

I recently acquired a copy of Black and White 2, along with its expansion, Battle of the Gods. I installed them, patched them, and tried to run them, first the basic version, then the expansion. Neither one worked. There was no error message, no black screen, the programs just seemed to have failed to run. I tried running in Compatibility Mode (XP SP3 and SP2), to the same result. Is there anyone who's gotten this game to work with Windows 10? Is it even possible?

Psssst!  Microsoft.  FYI.  You acquired Lionhead studios in 2006 and shut it down a few days ago (end of April 2016).  In other words, you are the "manufacturer."  I thought you should know this before you did anything embarrassing.  Something like ... I don't know ... posting a boiler plate rubber-stamp response that blames the manufacturer for not supporting a buggy OS that should not have been released before it was properly tested instead of actually looking into the problem and attempting to fix it.  You're welcome for the free PR advice.

Since it is well established that you are both the manufacturer and the operating system for this (now) unusable game, could you look into a solution?

    Hi,

This game uses Safedisc v4 DRM. This driver is not in box in WIndows 10. You would need to obtain a version of this game with DRM removed such as a digital copy. I don't see it on steam, origin or gog though.

This will make you able to run the game, but due to anti piracy measures the game will be unplayable, because it freezes all children to the age of 1, which stops you from building armys and your cities become under-populated...

Anyone knows a place, where you can get the .exe file, which avoids sd4 and simulates it's apearence?
