I have several old Maxis games like SimAnt, SimPark, and SimSafari. I would like to play them on my Windows 10 OS but every time I try it says "This app can't run on your PC." Is there any way I can make them work without having to revert back to Windows 7?

Sim Ant - Released in '91 will most likely require DOS BOX to run, as I would have expected on Win7  as well.

Sim Park is also DOS based.

Sim Safari looks like it may use a 16bit installer which will work on 32bit Windows, but not on 64bit Windows.

(the game should run if copied from a 32bit to 64bit Windows though )

    • Check the sites below for download versions that have been tweaked for 'modern' Windows versions.

DOS based games will generally install with DOS BOX ( I assume as this is how the games from Good old Games

work, but I've not used these two sites ).

    old-games.com/download/4403/sim-ant

    old-games.com/download/4414/simsafari

This one may not install with DOS BOX, as the suggest using it .

    bestoldgames.net/simpark

    .

    Hello,

I request you to try installing the game in compatibility mode and check if this helps.

Follow these steps to install the program in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

    1. Download the program from the manufacturer’s website.
    2. Right-click on the program setup file and click on ‘properties’.
    3. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select the operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.
    4. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if this helps.
