Guys, i have an issue. So, my laptop has 2 graphics cards, one being the Intel integrated HD graphics (which is working perfectly), and the other being the dedicated Nvidia graphics card (Nvidia GeForce 940m). Up until 2 days ago, everything was fine and running.
I have the GeForce experience application and it prompted me that there was a new driver update that i must download. It began installing then, after the reboot to finish the installation, it failed. I checked my device manager and saw a yellow exclamation mark under display adapters under My Nvidia card (remember, my laptop has two video cards: the Intel HD graphics which functions properly, and the Nvidia Graphics card). I immediately checked the details and it said:
"This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)"
"If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system."
This seemed very strange because it was LITERALLY working properly before i was prompted about the driver update that i received, so i dont know what to do - as a matter of fact, i literally finished playing this game, Deadpool, with my Nvidia card that i set as the default graphics card a few hours before, so i dont know why this happened. Any help?! I'm looking for a logical answer to this, guys!
Extra Information:
A few days before this happened, i went to my local pc shop and installed an extra 4 gigs of ram on my existing 4 to make 8. Dont know if that's very helpful but anyway
If i pick up my laptop and shake it side to side, i hear a slight rattling noise, and it seems a little loose ( i discovered this after i saw the error message). The sound seems to be coming from directly beneath the middle of my keyboard (im using a notebook) . Could it be that for some reason my Nvidia card is loose? Is this a possibility?
I'm quite technologically inclined, but not to the extent of removing components and rebuilding laptops/pc's and accessing the bios and what not. I can only remove/add ram.
I want to know if its something that i'm able to fix because i dont necessarily want to go running around and sending my laptop places- only my pc shop at most.
Here's the location of my Nvidia Card: PCI Slot 4 (PCI bus 4, device 0, function 0)
My specs:
Acer TravelMate p257-MG
Windows 7 Enterprise
Intel core i5-5200u CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.20Ghz
8.00 GB of ram
64-bit Operating System
1T hardrive
Intel HD Graphics 5500 & Nvidia Geforce 940m
Just to recap, i'm getting the error code on my Nvidia Graphics card, "This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)" "If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system."
Thanks in advance!

Thanks, i fixed the issue!
Thank you for your help. I used method 2 and i followed one of the community's recommended actions which was referring to device manager and going to system devices and uninstalling the PCI bus and reinstalling all the drivers that were situated on the bus including my said Nvidia graphics driver which was of course was situated on the driver, along with all the other drivers that were on there too.
Thanks again for helping me. Hope you educate more people about this issue and other related issues
Cheers.
In fact i do, i have this one device which is unknown and is unable to find any driver software that can be installed for it. If i go under details and then select "Hardware Ids", it shows 2 results: "ACPI\MSFT0101" and then "*MSFT0101".
So what i did was to copy those 2 results and search it on google and saying "driver download windows 7" after it. Some stuff came up saying that it has something to do with Intel Platform Trust Technology (Intel PTT) and and, unfortunately, It emulates to TPM 2.0, which windows 7 doesn't recognize.
They said that i can disable the Intel PTT in my system bios by going to Advanced - Security - Security Features Pane - uncheck Intel PTT. This issue is that the box to uncheck Intel PTT isn't there!. I also tried using the hotfix to fix the error, but the link is unavailable. Any help this time?
To recap, in Device manager under unknown devices, there is an unknown device that cannot find any software to identify it. Under details in Hardware ids, it shows "ACPI\MSFT0101" and "*MSFT0101". I typed those and tried to see if they could find any driver for the device - there was a method - but it deosn't work for me in the bios. It doesn't show anything to uncheck Intel PTT and the hotfix, which is another method, doesn't work as the the links for the downloads couldn't be found.
Please help!
