Today I have tried to play Starlancer an old Microsoft game on my laptop running windows 10. The game installed and I can get the Launcher to work but the game just wont launch. I have played with the compatibility setting including trying to use the windows 98-me setting but nothing seems to work... Anyone have a fix for this? I also noticed issues with Age of Empires 1 and 2 but have managed to get those games running.

It seems that the Starlancer game is not compatible to run on Windows 10.
I suggest you to check in the windows store for the updates related to the game and install the updates.
