ISD Tablet - Wacom Technology Removal Requirement

Hi,

I am new to this but didn't see the answer to my questions on this form. Why does the Windows 10 update require the uninstalling of Wacom technology? I have Wacom software version 7.0.2-24 (ISD Tablet is the program and Wacom is the publisher). I saw some tutorials online on how to make a Backup of the wacom settings so that when it is reinstalled than it can be used easily, but I don't see why it needs to be uninstalled in the first place. And I am not wanting to lose this technology as it works really well on my computer, which has Windows 7 Professional installed.

Thanks!!

Unfortunately, this is not particularly helpful.  These Lenovo computers are tablet computers with Wacom tablet technology built into the tablet screen.  Having a working compatible ISD Tablet Wacom driver is essential to maintaining the essential drawing capability of the computer.  It's not something that can be left to chance.

I've checked other forums and there are many people affected by this (these, and similar HP Touchsmart computers were very popular).

Since Microsoft is promoting Windows 10 as an upgrade from Windows 7 Professional, it should work with major suppliers such as Wacom and Lenovo to ensure these drivers are compatible.  Without assurances that there will be a working driver I can't upgrade.

    Thank you.

    Hello Hazel,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community and providing us with the detailed description about the issue.

As per the description, I understand that you are experiencing issue with while upgrading to Windows 10, its asking to uninstall Wacom technology on the system.

I certainly understand your concern and will try my best to help you.

I would like to provide you with the information that there can be various reasons for this program not work in Windows 10. It can be compatibility issues i.e. the program is not compatible with Windows 10 or some other program is causing conflict.

I would suggest you to try installing the program in compatibility mode and check if that helps. Please refer to the following Microsoft help article given below and check if that helps.

**Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows,**please follow the steps in the link provided below.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/older-programs-compatible-version-windows

Note: Most programs created for earlier versions of Windows will work in this version of Windows, but some older programs might run poorly or not at all. You can run the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter on most programs to detect and fix common compatibility problems.

Important: Don’t run the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter on antivirus programs, firewall software, backup software, disk utilities, or on system programs that came with Windows. This might cause data loss or create a security risk.

You may also try the following steps and check if that help.

To install the drivers in compatibility mode:

    1. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties
    2. Select Compatibility Tab
    3. Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode and select the operating system accordingly from the drop down list
    4. Let the driver to install and then check the functionality.

You may also refer to the link given below.

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/compatibility/CompatCenter/Home

Note: It will find compatibility information and get Windows compatible device drivers, app updates, and downloads.

The above steps holds good for Windows 10 as well.

I hope this information is helpful.

Please do let us know if you need any further assistance, we will be glad to assist you.

    Thank you.
