    Download the user manual for your printer from here:

    http://www.canon-europe.com/support/products/imagerunner/ir1018.aspx?type=manuals&manualid=tcm:13-1367166

    There will be four PDF files inside the zip file one of which is called iR1018_BOG_ENG. Open that and then go to the section called Troubleshooting. It tells you what to do in there.

    If you don't have any luck with that one, try one of the other PDF files.
