Are Nokia's maps still download-able for off-line use?

Are Nokia's maps still download-able from Nokia Suite to the phone? Off-line access to Nokia's maps of remote areas (with no mobile masts) has been a great help to me when using the phone's GPS. I have a Nokia E75. But now when I try to download any map, Nokia Suite always reports "Cannot connect to the service." Has Microsoft reduced the access to Nokia's maps?? Or how can I download a map?

You would have to download your chosen region from 00.01.29.100 series and apply manually to device using workaround mentioned in this thread:http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mobiledevices/forum/mdlumia/newest-nokia-ovi-maps-0125114-manual-download/7f0e8253-ea9b-4d64-9005-a7538dca468c

If you could specify what region(s) you require I could probably work them out for you. Map servers still available although map data considerably older for legacy devices.

If you are running Ovi Maps v3.03 you need 00.01.29.100 mapping as 00.02.54.223 series is for devices running Ovi/Nokia Maps v3.06 & later and are more detailed, but you can't use this data upon older device(s). POI files to be placed in E:\cities\diskcache\ClienIndex and may need to create ClientIndex folder as you found. I have just checked out folder structure upon E71 running Ovi Maps v3.03 with 00.01.29.100.

Whilst I have setup Maps from scratch upon later Belle FP2 & Meego N9 devices using 00.02.54.223 data since Nokia/Windows/HERE closed servers down, I haven't done this on older S60 5th Ed. device such as 5230 to know if you run into problems.

You need to access Wayback machine here, it is left hand of the two links given:

    Hi Aspergerguy

    Thanks for the suggestion.

AS WE SPEAK, I'm about to try your suggestion.

It's the map(s) for Australia I need - in fact, by tomorrow noon Copenhagen time, Aug. 13th.
