Windows 7 - Cannot find/install Bluetooth Peripheral Driver

Anonymous

I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop.  I also have a Samsung Galaxy S6.  I have Win 7 - 64bit.

I connect the S6 and try bluetooth, but it doesn't work.  In the device manager it says

"bluetooth peripheral driver" is missing.   I've tried to install the Windows Mobile Center 6.1, but I get the error peripheral driver cannot be installed.

I've updated all the BT associated drivers and to no avail.

The Bluetooth manufacturer is RealTek.  I've installed the latest drivers from Toshiba website also.

Also the A/V Remote Controller driver won't install.

SOS!

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it fixes the issue.

Method 1: Run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

Hardware and devices troubleshooter tries to automatically identify & fix the issue.

Follow the below article to run Hardware and devices troubleshooter:

    http://support2.microsoft.com/mats/hardware\_device\_problems/en-us

    Method 2

    Start the Bluetooth service.

    1. Click Start, type “services.msc” and hit enter.
    2. From the list of items, double click Bluetooth Support Service.
    3. Change the startup type to Automatic and click Start button to start service.
    4. Click Apply and then click ok.

Method 3: Uninstall and Reinstall Bluetooth Driver

I suggest you to uninstall and then reinstall the Bluetooth driver. Refer to the steps below:

    1. Press Windows key +R key.
    2. Type ‘devmgmt.msc’ and press Enter.
    3. Find and right-click the Bluetooth device from the list and click Uninstall.
    4. Windows will prompt you to confirm the device’s removal. Click OK to remove the driver.
    5. After the uninstallation is complete, reboot the computer.
    6. You can logon to the manufacturer website and install the driver.

Hope this will fix the issue, if not let us know with the updated status and we will be happy to assist you further.

I know yet again, I am chiming in late, but this is an ongoing issue.  I have two "Other Devices" called Bluetooth Peripheral Devices. I have uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, umpteen times, and I still get this.  Copying and pasting from a MS faq is not only ZERO help, but useless, as I have been hammering away at this for weeks.  I even bought a new BlueTooth adapter with different software and this problem still persists.

It is a Windows/MS issue, and something other than C/P from a faq, please?

Re: "We just want to confirm if, you have tried to download driver updates from the manufacturer's website?"

The above question is still good tech-triage routine but in this case - Samsung does not provide Phone/Tablet Bluetooth drivers as Bluetooth devices (in most cases) are Bluetooth-v4.0 complaint devices with the following Bluetooth profiles: A2DP, AVRCP, DI, HID, HOGP, HSP, OPP, PAN, A2DP, AVRCP, DI, HID, HOGP, HSP, OPP, PAN, PBAP and thus should work under all current OS applications.

In my issue; Windows only sees it as an audio player device and can not transfer files (had only tested Win-7 Pro x86 so far - which is now at EoL for 'mainstream updates/support', security updates are supported to 2020 on Win-7).

That should do it for this thread (though would like to see a fix). Issues regarding current OS platforms should start a new topic (FWIW)

    cheers

I see you didn't bother to read where I had already DONE all of that, that I had been working on this for weeks.   Again, Copy/Paste from a FAQ or site I have been to over and over is of NO help.

Like Sandra says. Tried all that already and a page with HOW-TO were it doesn't work doesn't help at all. A simple link to a working driver would do.
