I'm using Teams 1.4.00.7556 over Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS and the same problem: I need to use web client to attach files (no matter the file type/extension) quickly because linux client reports "empty file".

Hi! Please help!
Cant sent files into MS Teams private Chat message! (Chat section)
Text words are sent perfectely. Android Teams - files are sent perfectly!
It is just about PDF, docs, xls and others on Linux OS from *.deb package installation. The last PDF file size was 26 kB and it was definitely not empty! Error message: The file <....>.pdf Upload failed - file is empty!!

Do you mean only PDF files cannot upload normally in Teams client?
Have you tried to create new PDF files and upload it to see if this issue can be reproduced?
Do you have the same issue when upload file in public Teams channel?
In this case, we firstly recommend you clear your client cache by the following command:
1.Cache folder on Linux
~/.config/Microsoft/Microsoft\ Teams\ -\ Insiders2.To remove cache folder
rm -r ~/.config/Microsoft/Microsoft\ Teams\ -\ Insiders

I have found:
~/.config/Microsoft/Microsoft Teams/...
should i delete everything there and below?and yes, not only PDF files are not uploaded into chat. PPTX not uploaded as well. The same for DOCS. JPEG files are uploaded OK.
I think this is the right time for analyzing logs. Please let me know how to trace.
From Android phone files PDF, PPTX and other files are uploaded OK.

should i delete everything there and below?Yes, you can try to clear all folders in the Teams path and restart the client.

Teams raised the same error: "file is empty"
If you scroll down my post you may see the another person having the same error - OstrolkAdam-8411.
He said that he cannot send files (error file is empty) using downloaded .DEB package microsoft teams. Sending pictures is OK.
Thats exactly the same situation as i got.
Please let me know what we can do next for resolving this issue.

Sorry, our environment met some issue so we cannot test your reported issue in time.
Have you tried to install Teams for Linux manually by running the following command:
curl https://packages.microsoft.com/keys/microsoft.asc | sudo apt-key add - sudo sh -c 'echo "deb [arch=amd64] https://packages.microsoft.com/repos/ms-teams stable main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/teams.list' sudo apt update sudo apt install teamsThe above steps just want to make sure if this issue is related to Teams client package issue.

2021-02-02T17:18:13.113+00:00 Jimmy, seems i have localized the problem. Trying to summarize.
I installed MS Teams under 1st main admin account with sudo command: sudo apt install teams
Then i tried to upload *.ppt file and everything was fine. No "file is empty" error message.
Then i relogged to the 2nd user account (not admin), which is mostly using MS Teams application, and then received the same error message "MS Teams: The file <....>.ppt Upload failed - file is empty!"
In both cases i have tried to upload files from user home Documents folders, so i think there was no file access questions.
Also i cant grant admin access to 2nd account.
Please let me know what to do next.

I can send files on teams.microsoft.com but I cannot send files (error file is empty) using downloaded .DEB package microsoft teams.I have discovered that sending pictures using copy picture & paste picture works ok but cannot send anything using "Attach file" option in chat.
