Original title: Trying to get a USB Microphone installed on Windows 7 (64-bit)-

I have a Radio Shack -3300128 Super-Cardioid Vocal Microphone that installed and worked perfectly on my laptop with Windows 7 (32-Bit), but fails to install on my new desktop loaded with Windows 7 Professional (64-bit).  I get an oSB - Audi  Failed X.

I have an update for this.  The product below may be the actual culprit .  Anyone with information, please update or reply.

RadioShack® XLR to Mini USB Microphone Adapter

    Model: 33-331  | Catalog #: 33-331

Years later on Windows 10 x64, same exact problem. I see the oSB Audi device not working. But only if I connect to a USB 2.0 port. If I connect to a USB 3.0 port, then it's just a non-working USB Audio device.

Strange. Perhaps the 33-331 USB to XLR converter is not compatible with modern versions of Windows, from 7 onward, or at least 64-bit 7 onwards...

This Radioshack adapter is NOT COMPATIBLE WITH PHANTOM POWER. I've been having the same problem with my AT2020 condenser mic. one like this will be better: http://www.siglermusiconline.com/store/pc/OSP-USB-Microphone-Adapter-w-Phantom-Power-p1479.htm#.Uh5bVBu1HHk

I'm having this same problem. I've tried re-installing the drivers and restarting my computer but I can't manage to successfully install the oSB Audi driver

    Hi,

Have you made any changes to the computer prior to this issue?

I would suggest you to try these methods and check the issue status.

    Method 1:

Run the Fix it and install the Microphone.

Hardware devices are not working or are not detected in Windows.    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/en-us

    Method 2:

Set the computer to a clean boot status, disable the antivirus and install the Microphone.

    Step 1:

Perform clean boot, restart the computer.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7.

Note: Please go through step 7 of the Kb to keep the computer in normal startup after fixing the issue.

    Step 2:

Disable antivirus software and install the update.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do have to temporarily disable it to install other software,
