Files Moved to Inetcache Inivisible Folders

Hi,

I'm having trouble figuring out what some hidden folders are that my files are being transferred to are

This just started happening today, every time I try to open a 3GA audio file, a window pops up saying it is transferring the file to "EQ12C26E" or "A59I5Y2O" and other files have moved to other folder.  When I try to play the file after it is automatically transferred, another window comes up titled "1 Interrupted Action" stating: "An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file. if you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem Error 0x80004005"

The file location where these files are being moved is "C:\Users\matt\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\IE\EQ12C26E".

Also I had to click the file location quickly when it is being transferee to figure out the location.

In the "EQ12C26E" there was a lot of different files, a few were Facebook profile pictures, Skype graphics, adds, many different pictures and text and unsupported file Also a few of my 3GA files were in there too

When I try opening "INetCache\IE", there are no visible folders even if I check "hidden items" in the window

So I have no idea what's going on here, is this a virus or malware?

Any help would be really be appreciated

Thank you

Matt

There are probably more than 1 hidden folder in IE for any given system.

To date, I have found 3 such hidden folder on my system.

    C:\Users**{User-ID}**\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\Low\IE\

I found the 1st in folder IE when attempting to find a lost file.  Realizing that IE was showing NO folders, I have started picking files in the 1st hidden folder and doing searches on them. Most files in the hidden folders are found only there.  However, some are in multiple places.  Again, to date, I have found 3 such hidden folders on my system, all having 8-character names comprised of capital letters & integers.

None of the file so found have any personal data (i.e. financial records or password file).

However, I search for those file and have found the in other places!

I refer to a book titled "Windows 8 Hacks" by  Preston Gralla, O’Reilly Press, CA.

The hacks are apparently applicable to Windows 10.

The book describes how to create 2 special folders that will list ALL system and 3-rd party apps on your system.

I expect the hackers will know where all this stuff is, so why does Microsoft hide it (and not mention it) in their documentation***?*** They will be criminally responsible when anything happens on mine***!***

    Windows-10 free upgrade:

My Anti-virus quarantined several files and that led me here.

Cleaning per above information seems to leave behind many files in a sub folder "IE".  I can't see it even though I show hidden and system files.  Inside the folder named ...\IE\EFA62UZ there is a small image "beyonce-2-300x170[1].jpg".  Many xml and htm files are here.

Why can't I see the IE folder?

There are a LOT of the sub-folders taking up a LOT of space.  Can I delete them?  Risk?

    Carl

I would open your IE options, use the "Delete" button on the General tab to clear out all the INETCache files, then use the "Reset" button on the Advanced tab (bottom button) to reset it.
