    Hey melih-selim,

    The ‘Age of Mythology’ is not compatible with Windows 7. You can refer the below link that will give you information on compatibility of this game:

    https://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Search.aspx?type=Software&s=Age of Mythology&os=64-bit

    You can try to run this in Windows Vista Compatibility Mode:

    1. Open the Program Compatibility troubleshooter by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Under Programs, click Run programs made for previous versions of Windows.
    2. Follow the instructions in the troubleshooter.

    Follow the below link for more information on this:

    after a couple of weeks of no fix I decided I would look into this further, I was looking through documentations to see what could be the problem and I managed to get it to run.

    I closed the app five times, and restarted and everything ran fine no more black screen when entering the menu.

    Here's how I fixed it:

    I made a text file called user.cfg and inputted my screen resolution, and color profile ie; the three standard options are:

    640x480, 800x600, 1024x768 the color must be set to 16bit

    For 640x480 you would do the following:

    xres=640

    yres=480

    bpp=16

    Once done, save and ensure that all files are enabled instead of text documents (.txt) and save to your save location for example %%:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology\startup

    &Reminder make sure that the file name is called user.cfg

    Also, if you have a widescreen you will want to set the custom resolution in the shortcut to age of mythology for example:

    When you right click on the shortcut on your desktop you will need to select properties then in the target line after the aomx.exe add xres=(x) yres=(y)

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology\aomx.exe" xres=1366 yres=768

    Brief intro: I have laptop with integrated in intel i3 graphic card and had same problem, tried all fixes and all troubleshoot options and nothing worked until I stumbled on this link:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/331147

    Basically its this part: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/331147#bookmark-7  that got me AHA moment

    " To resolve this behavior, quit Age of Mythology, use the Age of Mythology Safe Video shortcut under Diagnostics to restart the game, and then switch to a lower resolution under Options.

    Note Age of Mythology requires that graphics hardware acceleration be turned on. You may see the mouse cursor with the black screen in the background if 3D acceleration is turned off. "

    Its hardware problem not Win10  basically the 3D acceleration

    ( I didn't tried to turn it on or check  how to do it, game is working, if not try do Troubleshoot mentioned above - or just get XP mode + admin rights n should be fine)

    On 10 go in start menu> Microsoft Games > " AoM- Safe mode " or titans version n change resolution to bigger not smaller, everything should work fine.

    Hope it gonna help someone :D

    Thank god for documentation <3

    And funny how old games have bigger requirements than new ones xD
