I really can't find much on that error.

What media are you using for the installation media...  A CD/DVD, a USB thumb drive, etc. and where did you obtain this installation media?

It could be that the installation media is afflicted and it wouldn't hurt to create some new installation media and you can use your existing Windows Product Key to activate.

Visit this site and download their Windows ISO download tool:

    https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/67-microsoft-windows-iso-download-tool

Then download the ISO installation file that is right for your system and Windows product key.

An ISO file is a special kind of bootable installation file that can be burned to a CD/DVD or USB thumb drive and you can boot your system on that to begin the install.  Simply copying the ISO file to the media will not work so don't do that.

To create an installation CD/DVD from the ISO you can use a third party tool (likeImgBurn) or the built in Windows tool:

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd451080.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

To make a bootable USB thumb drive, Rufus is a popular tool:

    https://rufus.akeo.ie/

Like many free (but good) programs ImgBurn will want to install some things you might not want so pay attention during the installation and click these links to customize the installation (both places) and UNCHECK the extra things they offer:

You can always uninstall ImgBurn later if you don't like or want it.

    Nadia

I have uninstalled windows 7 and i have formatted the drive and i was trying to reinstall my windows 7 when this error accored so at the moment i have no operating system installed so i don’t think it’s a Windows Defender problem.

Thanks again for your help Nadia
