Printer not responding - Canon Pixma MG3220 - Windows 7 64bit HE - Complicated issue

When I try to print, I immediately get a "printer not responding" pop up error. There is no error on the printer itself. I simply see a "1" on the digital display and the wifi light is a solid blue. Nothing changes on the printer itself when the error occurs. The copy function and scanner both work fine.

I've tried rebooting. I've tried using 2 different USB cables and using 3 different USB ports. I'm not using any USB hubs and the cable is about 3 feet. The printer is set as my default printer and no other printer is installed. I've made sure that "printer is offline" is unchecked in the top left tab in printing jobs. Under printer properties > ports, "USB001 virtual printer for USB" is checked. Under device manager > USB controllers, I get no errors under "USB printing support."

I tried uninstalling the drivers via programs & features and then "removed device" in devices and printers. I then did the following to make sure the drivers were uninstalled properly:

start > type "printui /s / t2" in search > ENTER > drivers tab, and made sure all printer drivers were uninstalled except "Microsoft XPS document writer."

I rebooted and reinstalled the following official drivers from the Canon website: MG3200 series MP Drivers Ver. 1.02 - 07/22/15 - 17.53 MB

I still ended up with the same error when trying to print.

I installed the same driver on a small laptop running Windows 7 32 bit Ultimate edition and the printer worked on the first try. The laptop installed the driver without an internet connection, perhaps this made a difference as the desktop installs something through Microsoft in the background while I install the official Canon drivers.

I believe this problem may be some kind of driver issue / conflict or corrupt registry entry. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I'm using the latest and basically the only driver.

I spoke to a few Canon customer support representatives and the last one didn't believe it's a software issue. He seemed to believe it's an issue with one of my firewall ports in Windows. It doesn't make sense because when I turn off my firewall the printer still gives me the same error.

Here is the document which I was sent:

Maybe you need to call the manufacturer. How about trying a different printer to the same device and check if its the same issue.

Is this the latest driver? Can you check the updates from your computer?
