Hi,
If you are having troubles joining party chats on your Xbox One console, it may indicate that there's a problem with the Xbox Live service or your network connection.
To resolve your concern, you can follow the steps on the solutions below:
Solution 1: Check Xbox Live status on thislink. If you see any alerts, wait until the service is up and running, and then try again.
Solution 2: Check the network statistics.
Check the statistics for your network. Here's how:
- Scroll left from Home to open the guide.
- Select Settings.
- Select All settings.
- Select Network.
- Select Network settings.
- Select Detailed network statistics.
- Review the statistics. For help evaluating the information, see Network settings on Xbox One.
Solution 3: Have everyone in the party test their Xbox Live connection.
Someone in your party might have a Network Address Translation (NAT) problem. To find out, have everyone test their connection. Here's how:
- Scroll left from Home to open the guide.
- Select Settings.
- Select All settings.
- Select Network.
- Select Network settings.
- Select Test network connection.
Notes
- If someone has a NAT indication in network settings, have that person try the Xbox One Multiplayer Game Solution.
- If you're seeing more than 5-percent packet loss, you may want to troubleshoot your connection using the Xbox One Slow Performance Solution.
Solution 4: Restart your Xbox One console.
- Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.
- Select Settings.
- Select Restart console.
- Select Yes to confirm.
Note If you're unable to access the guide, or if the console appears to be frozen, press and hold the Xboxbutton on the console for 10 seconds, until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the Xboxbutton on the console again to restart.
Solution 5: Try a wired connection.
If you're currently using a wireless connection, try using a wired connection instead.
If you can start party chat when you use a wired connection, see the Networking Hardware Information section of the
Xbox Forums, or contact your router's manufacturer for information about how to configure the wireless settings on the router.
Let us know how it goes.
