Congratulations, and thanks for the feedback.
Sharing a file from a memory stick.
I have a laptop I use out in the shop running Windows 10 that I call COSHOP. I have a desktop in the office running windows 7 that I call SHOPEMAIL. I have a memory stick in the SHOPEMAIL computer that comes up in Windows Explorer as “Stick (G)”. I have SHOPEMAIL set up with autoplay so when I plug my camera in it downloads all the pictures off that camera and puts them in a file on the “Stick (G)”. This is the path on SHOPEMAIL - G:\Briefcase-Stick\Data Stored on Stick and the file is called Pictures#6. I wanted to set up COSHOP with Autoplay so that when the camera is plugged into that laptop out in the shop it will also take all the pictures and download them to the Pictures#6 file that is on the memory stick of SHOPMAIL that is in the office. I shared the Pictures#6 file on the memory stick to “All” and I am able to access this file from the laptop (COSHOP) just fine. When I plug the camera into COSHOP that is set up with autoplay I get an error. “The following error occurred: Access is denied”. What am I doing wrong here? As a test I tried setting the autoplay in COSHOP to import the pictures to another shared file on SHOPEMAIL and it worked fine but I am not able to send it to a file that is on the memory stick. When I tried the test, setting up the autoplay on COSHOP to send to a shared file on SHOPEMAIL (This one works) it shows the path as \\SHOPEMAIL\Users\Public\Pictures. When I’m trying to send it to Picture#6 on the memory stick (This does not work) I get this path \\SHOPEMAIL\Pictures#6. It seems like something is missing here but that is the path I get when I browse to Picturers#6 from COSHOP. Thanks

2016-12-29T17:16:29+00:00 Thanks for all the help here. It turns out I do have files over 4 GB and NTFS is being used. It was a permission issue. I assumed all I needed to do was share the file but after reading your post I found that I also needed to allow the file to be modified. I found these settings under the "Security tab. Thanks again.

2016-12-21T02:28:08+00:00 In Windows "sharing" files is more accurately a "permission" issue. That is, does User A have permission to read files saved in User B's folders.
The key factor here is that permissions are entirely based on the NTFS file system that has been used by default in consumer versions of Windows since Windows XP.
However -- and this is important -- by default, most USB flash drives are formatted using the older FAT file system that does not support permissions. Unless you have files that are larger than 4 GB, there is no reason to re-format your USB flash drive to use NTFS.
For a USB flash drive formatted as a FAT volume, any user (on any computer) can access a file saved on the USB flash drive by any other user (on any computer).
I'm not sure how you've configured Autoplay to automatically download files to a particular location, unless you mean that you have written a batch file that executes via the autorun.inf file on the USB flash drive, but an "Access denied" error sounds to me like a permissions issue.
With your USB flash drive connected to either computer, right-click on it and select "Properties." You should see something like this:
If the "File system" for your USB flash drive is NTFS, that's your problem. Although you could configure the permissions for all of the folders on the device to permit usage by user accounts on both computers, it's probably simpler to reformat the flash drive using the FAT system -- as long as you will not need to have a file larger than 4GB. Just remember to copy all of the files to one of the computers temporarily before you format the flash drive. Then copy them back.
When you're ready to do the format, just right-click on the flash drive and select "Format" from the popup context menu. If FAT isn't already select on the format menu, select it:
