Om currently running Direct X ver 11 on windows 8.1
I need to update to latest version 11.2
MS support says the only way to update is through PC windows update which I have tried to do.
I contacted MS chat technical support online for help to be told I have to wait till ver 11.2 becomes available through windows update but they do not know when. MS Support said there was a version direct X ver 11.1 but they were unable to install 11.1 version as it not a standalone so ver 11.1 has not even updated automatically. It does not make sense. I need the latest vesion to install a flight sim game. Any Ideas would be appreciated

MS also says that DirectX v11.2 is included when you upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 (or if your computer came with Win8.1 preinstalled).
MS also says that the DirectX Diagnostic Tool may show DirectX 11 as the DirectX version number when DirectX 11.2 and/or DirectX 11.1 is installed.
So how have you determined that DirectX 11.2 is NOT installed?
What flight sim version are you attempting to install?
