Windows Phone Recovery Tool 1.2.4 and Lumia Software Recovery 5.0.7 not installing

Hi, am trying to recover my lumia phone software, so I got this error when installing the Windows Phone Recovery Tool 1.2.4 and Lumia Software Recovery Tool 5.0.7.

Have checked the log file and also tried to install winUSB Drive ext and I still got the same error, but after trying like millions of times and also much of downloads I got this

Please help me ASAP. Thanks

Hi community,

I was able to solve this above problems with some steps, the first step is actually a speculation because when I was trying to give up I decide to do some magic, so I went through some process.

Step 1:

1. Go to your Settings > Change PC Settings > Update and recovery > Windows Update

**...**This step is just to make sure you have all updates installed, you might get some message" we've found updates today....", but just click on the View detailsand select all the updates available and install them basically.

Without restarting yet.

2.Go to yourSettings > Change PC Settings > Update and recovery > Recovery >Advanced start-upand click on restart now > on the new page choose **Startup Settings > restart >**Press 7 or F7 on your keyboard. Then wait for it restart.

I mentioned that this is a speculation because after this two sub steps when I try to install it again I got the same error back, sub step 2. may not have done anything but 1. am not sure, after it refuse to install I decided to read the log file from beginning to the end so I found some download links and I decided check them out:

Step 2.

**1.**Download WinUsbDriversExt.msi from: http://download-fds.webapps.microsoft.com/supportFiles/phones/files/recovery/Drivers/WinUsbDriversExt/1.1.12.1439/WinUsbDriversExt.msi

2. Download USBSerialPortDriver.msi from: http://download-fds.webapps.microsoft.com/supportFiles/phones/files/recovery/Drivers/USBSerialPortDriver/1.1.6.1439/USBSerialPortDriver.msi

3. Download EmergencyDownloadDriver.msi from: http://download-fds.webapps.microsoft.com/supportFiles/phones/files/recovery/Drivers/EmergencyDownloadDriver/1.1.7.1439/EmergencyDownloadDriver.msi

I got this by reading the log files because each time I install one I mean number 1. another one (problem) popped up with links and after downloading all this files, this is very important MAKE SURE THEY ARE IN THE SAME FOLDER WITH DOWNLOADED LUMIA SOFTWARE OR WINDOW PHONE RECOVERY TOOLbecause that was I another story I don't want to talk about.

Any time you have a problem I recommend, try to read the log file if available you might find a solution to your problem. Because am trying to install another software now and am getting another error with log file.

    Hello.

    I followed the steps but when I got to the downloads I had a problem. Files are not available. When I try to access the message 'File not found' is displayed.

    I have found a solution as well.

    Take the Lumia/Windows Phone and throw it in the bin and go buy an Android or Apple device. I am so tired of Microsoft not properly supporting their devices and software. Its a pity that Microsoft has such a **** attitude towards their clients and people trying to help them test their software. I updated my Lumia 1320 to Windows 10 and that is what I have now. I am stuck with a preview of W10, I cannot download updates as it is stuck at 0% with the last update. It will not download apps as it is waiting for the update to download and I cannot rollback as Microsofts "wonderful" recovery apps will not even install on their own operating system.

    Come on guys, get your act together!!!! You will not be able to get the sales and market share you hope with an attitude like this!!!

    Try performing the suggestion provided by VIJEESHV here: Windows Phone Recovery Tool & Lumia Software Recovery Tool giving error while installing (Error 0x80091007). See the second page. Let us know the outcome.

    Thank you for your post on the forum.

    I understand that your issue is related to the fact that you are not able to install Windows Phone Recovery Tool and Lumia Software Recovery Tool.

    In that situation please try installing the tools on a differnt PC.
