Create panorama photos in Windows 10 Photo Gallery

I want to create a panorama photo in Windows 10 Photo Gallery.

These are the instructions I receive:

To create a panorama

  1. Take a series of photos from a single vantage point so that each photo overlaps the one preceding it and import them into Photo Gallery.
  2. Select the photos you're going to use, and on the Create tab, in the Tools group, click Panorama. Photo Gallery will align the photos and combine them into a new composition.
  3. To crop a finished panorama, on the Edit tab, in the Adjustments group, click Crop.

To create a collage

  1. Select seven or more photos that you'd like to group together in a collage.
  2. On the Create tab, in the Tools group, click Auto Collage.

– or –

Click the Auto Collage dropdown menu to choose the collage size and layout you want.

To fuse photos

  1. Select two or more photos taken from the same scene and vantage point.
  2. On the Create tab, in the Tools group, click Photo Fuse.
  3. Click the area of the photo you want to replace, and then drag one of the points to adjust the size of this area.
  4. Click the replacement photo that you like best, and then click Save.

In my Windows 10 photo gallery, I have no such "tools" available to me.

I have searched multiple times by right clicking on photos and no result.

Have searched the "perimeter" of Photo Gallery and have no luck.

What am I doing wrong?

    "

"The panorama feature requires the following 3 conditions be met to be enabled in Windows 10.

    1. Gyroscope/accelerometer sensors available
    2. Rear camera available
    3. The camera’s field of view (FoV) is known"

But, of course!  How could I have known that every Microsoft user would have those capabilities!!

    How dense of me!!

Obviously you have completely misinterpreted my query or I live in another universe!

I think the original poster is confusing two Microsoft software products:

    • the Photos feature built in to Windows 10
    • the Windows 10 Photo Gallery, an app for smartphones

Is this the case?  I cannot find this “Windows 10 Photo Gallery” app for desktop Windows 10

    Hi Bert,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I’m sorry to know that you are unable to create a Panorama photo in Windows10 Photo Gallery. I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you and I will be happy to assist you.

The panorama feature requires the following 3 conditions be met to be enabled in Windows 10.

    1. Gyroscope/accelerometer sensors available
    2. Rear camera available
    3. The camera’s field of view (FoV) is known

New in Windows10 is an API that the camera driver can use to advertise its "field of view" to provide this information to apps that require it (like Camera or other augmented reality scenarios).

However, today USB camera devices’ drivers are unable to report the FoV via the new API. We are working with device makers to get panorama lighting up on every device as soon as possible. There are a handful of these devices that already work and more will be lighting up over time.

I would suggest you to provide feedback regarding the same using Feedback App.

    We really appreciate your patience.

    Thank you.

Yep.  I finally figured that out.  Looks like they're ending support on 1/10/17.  I suppose that means it will no longer be available for download directly from m/s after that date..
