Sidewinder X5 mouse not recognized by Mouse and Keyboard center 2.8 in Windows 7 Pro 64bit

I clean reinstalled my Win 7 Pro and installed also Mouse and Keyboard center 2.8 (MaKc 2.8) in my device. But, when I run it it says "No supported device detected".

I have old Microsoft Sidewinder X5 plugged in. According to this list it is supported by MaKc 2.8. I had no problems with it in the past before on Win 7.

Devmgmt.msc shows HID-compliant mouse not Microsoft Sidewinder like I think it was before. I tried to uninstall this driver re-plug mouse but again HID mouse driver was installed. That same when I uninstalled driver and restarted computer.

Any Advice?

    Final solution for me:

    1. Uninstall Microsoft mouse and keyboard center which is for me totally unusable and can´t properly install correct driver for my Sidewinder X5 mouse (it Install HID compliant mouse driver) - it is not able to recognize my mouse even when I manually install driver for my mouse from the drivers provided with installation package (I installed Microsoft SideWinder Mouse (Mouse and Keyboard center) driver).
    2. Download IntelliPoint 8.2 (https://www.microsoft.com/accessories/sk-sk/d/sidewinder-x5-mouse)
    3. Install it - it will automatically install correct driver (Microsoft SideWinder Mouse (InelliPoint))
    4. Then run Microsoft Mouse software just installed and there you finally can set all your buttons.

Thanks to me that I was able to fix my problem with Microsoft software.

Hope it will be helpful also for other users.

This is not proper answer to my question because I can´t set-up my mouse in Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center but I´m finally at least able to do it.

I´m not opened for system restore. I always prefer clean install of system and restore will always do weird things so I never know what have been done.

Note, that my mouse was not recognized by mouse and keyboard center after windows clean install which I think is superior to system restore.

Is there any suggestion which will point me to the solution?

    Hi,

To isolate the issue, can you confirm that you installed the 64-bit version of the Mouse and Keyboard Center app? You can check out this link for the 64-bit version.

    Regards.

Please try to boot in Safe mode and see if the mouse will work? Here's the link for steps in booting in Safe mode.

Let us know how it goes.
