Can't Sign In to Xbox - 0x404 & 0x406

Hello again... this is a follow-up to the previous thread that I have mentioned. Now that I have my computer back in shape, I'm still trying to reinstall all the apps that have been uninstalled in the process. While doing so, I noticed that whenever I sign in to Xbox, I couldn't sign in. It showed the error codes 0x406 and 0x404 (sometimes). I tried to remove the Windows Store and Xbox app packages, but when I restarted the computer and decided to put back in all the apps that I have deleted, only Windows Store reinstalled, not Xbox. And when I tried to reinstall Xbox from the Store, the problem still prevailed.

Is there a way to solve this problem even if the Powershell solutiondid not work? Please do so... I want to go back to playing those Classic Games again.

You're welcome. Thanks as well for letting us know about this.

Here are additional troubleshooting solutions you may follow:

    Solution 1: Check for updates

    • Manually update Xbox app

Click this link and follow the steps on how to check for updates for apps and games from Windows Store. Search if there are any updates available for the Xbox app. This is to make sure you have the latest version of the application.

    • Check for the latest updates for your Windows 10 device
    1. Press the Windows button on your device or keyboard, or select the Windows icon in the lower-left corner of the main screen.
    2. Select Settings, and then select Update & Security.
    3. On the Windows Update tab, select Check now to see if any updates are available for your device.
    4. Once the updates have downloaded, select Install now to start the installation.
    5. Following installation, we recommend that you restart your device so that the latest updates can take effect. Make sure that you save and close any apps that you have open before you restart.

Solution 3: Sign in as a different user

    1. Press the Windows button on your device or keyboard, or select the Windows icon from the bottom-left corner of the main screen.
    2. Select your account name from the top-left corner of the menu, and then select Switch account.
    3. Sign in with an account other than the one you were using.
    4. Launch the Xbox app and check if it works.

    Solution 4: Remove anti-virus

    1. On the Start menu, select Settings.
    2. Select System > Apps & features.
    3. Select the program, and then select Uninstall.
    4. Follow the directions on the screen.

    Keep us posted.

I had tried all those solutions, but it seems like it won't work. Recently, I reinstalled Windows using the Media Creation Tool while keeping all the personal files and apps in the process, and before I did that the apps were not working. Maybe it's something to do with doing a clean uninstall, since the Powershell solution doesn't work? (It thinks the application could not be installed even after I uninstalled Xbox many times.)
