Bootmgr is corrupt, system cannot boot.

The windows won't load anymore, the message about corrupt bootmgr is shown. It loaded once, but then it stopped working again and a new message starred showing, "your pc ran into a problem, it's need to restart, we'll restart it for you".

Now if i try inserting and loading from a bootable usb i made, it sometimes start the windows repair/installation screen but then again it crashes, and the same message about restarting shows.

I am lost here, this hasn't happened before.

Any Suggestions? Thanks

    Hi,

Based on the information that you have provided, it's possible that the system could not find the bootable drive. Kindly removed all the USB drives connected to the computer and make sure that there are not CDs inserted in the drive. Restart your computer and check if you will encounter the same issue.

Should you need further assistance, feel free to get back to us.

Start your System, then just after the Manufacturers logo disappears and Windows 10 tries to boot, press and hold the power button down for 5 - 10 seconds to perform a hard shut down

    Do this Twice

On the third boot attempt, Windows will boot into the Windows 10 Repair Environment, from there you can access Startup Recovery, Safe Mode, Command Prompt . . . etc.

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Command Prompt

Run Each of these commands, press return after each command:

    BootRec /fixmbr

    BootRec /FixBoot

    BootRec /ScanOs

    BootRec /RebuildBcd

Close Command Prompt and reboot your System to see if it boots . . .

If that does not work: go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - System Restore, see if you have a recent restore point you can revert to

If you do not have a recent restore point, go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Startup Settings, click restart.

Upon restart press 4 to boot into Safe Mode, if you can get into Safe Mode, backup your data, reboot and see if your system boots normally

If all this fails go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Reset this PC, choose to keep all your files and Apps

This will re-install Windows 10 whilst keeping your data and applications

There are no CD's inserted and no usb either.

The default boot device is also set up to be the hdd. It's still shows the same black screen with the message that bootmgr is corrupt.

Hi, it seems the hard shutdown isn't working, it restarts to the same black screen showing the same bootmgr corrupt message.

Can't access the windows repair environment with that. I tried doing the same with a bootable usb and tried troubleshhoting through there, i have no restore points and while trying the command prompt method, it hangs and crashes and says your pc ran into a problem, needs to restart( which it does even when trying other things)

How do i reset i the PC then if it doesn't hard shut down and boot into repair settings. And i have some really important files on the same drives cannot delete.
