Hello,
Why is there no availability for messenger on Surface RT?
In my experience it works better, and besides, it should be the customers' choice, not the manufacturers...
Can you let me know when this issue might be resolved?
thanks
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I just installed Windows 8.1 for my Surface RT
Where is the Messenger app? I like it because it connected with my Facebook.
I saw that it is in Skype now, but I don't see it!
What happened to it??!

Hi Shanice,
When you say “I saw that it is in Skype now, but I don't see it!”, are you referring to Facebook contacts?
Messenger is no longer included in Windows 8.1 and replaced by the functionality in Skype.
For further information, refer to the articles:
What happened to the Messaging app?
Different Skype features and services are available depending on the version of Skype you are using.
If you want to chat with your Facebook friends, then you need to use the Skype for Windows desktop.
However, Skype for Windows desktop can only be installed on Windows 8.1 PCs, not on Windows RT 8.1 PCs.
Hope the information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance with Windows related issues. We will be happy to help.
You basically have to download the facebook app to chat with your friends now if you don't wanna do it through Internet Explorer.
At least the facebook app actually WORK, the messenger app kept duplicating messages.
Thanks for ruining Windows 8 RT even more.
