At the bottom of the thread in the very last post(¡Firedog) are two links.

These two links are active links for Windows Essentials 2012 offline installer.

    OK an Update with Joy.

I went to the above Post

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/livemail-wlinstall/windows-essentials-2012-microsoft-offline/0dbbd92a-991c-48d7-8157-26decd351da8

At the bottom there are x2 Downloads for the offline installer.

    Universal English

    British English

I downloaded the Universal English - Got the same error that I got when I was Installing from my Pen Drive.

Then I Downloaded the British English Installer - Walla - Installed WindowsLIveMail without a Problem.

Crikey am I glad however I do not understand - So a heads up for others - Try the British English link.

I have saved this in multiple locations & on my Pen Drive as it is very valuable & usefull.

If anyone can understand I would be interested in knowing .

    Cheers ALL

Im having the same problem. I have been using the same offline installer for WE 2012 for years. In the last week or so it doesnt work on either Windows 7 or 10.

I did have success once by doing a fresh install of 7, installing .Net Framework 4 then Live Mail 2012 before doing anything else.

Im thinking there may have been an update to the .Net Framework that has broken the compatibility.

I will try that British English version now.

Update - worked on one computer (10). But not the other (7)

I also over the past weekish have not been able to install windows essentials 2012 (WindowsLiveMail) on windows 10 PC's.

I am a PC Tech for over 10 Years, I had a new PC Build last week that had the same error when trying to Install.

I have the offline Installer on a Pen Drive that I have been using up until last week, then today I have another New PC I Have built & Same error when Installing.

    Unknown error 0x800c0006

I used the same Offline Installer today on another PC I had to Replace the HDD in & It was running Windows 7 - No Problem Installing.

    Any Ideas anyone ? ?
