I have been having a load of issues in attempting to locate the driver for the xbox 360 wireless networking adapter to use on my windows 7 64 bit computer. Is there a rare driver that I simply have not found? or is there something wholly incompatible with older xbox 360 hardware? (The wireless network adapter is USB and was bought back before the new black slimmer xbox 360 was introduced, Back when is was big heavy and white)

Basically i want the network adapter to give me a wireless connection to my router so i can move this PC into another room without needing an Ethernet cord.

The XBox 360 wireless network adapter seems to only work with the corresponding XBox 360 game console.  Microsoft seems to not be releasing a Windows driver.

However, you should be able to find a completely Windows 7 compatible wireless adapter that will plug in to a USB port.

Also, you can add a "wireless" access port that will add wireless networking to a non-wireless router.

If you could find what chip is used in this usb network adapter, you might find drivers that match.

The N wifi version has 2 antennas. G version has 1.

Many usb N dongles are under $30 for windows 10.

    I like Trendnet or Tplink.

Pci or pci-e internal cards are also available.

    Search for reviews.

AC wifi is the fastest, but cost most. N is ok for most home people.

I also wish all old hardware was able to be recycled. Some times it is not worth the headache.

Power line wifi adapters also work well, supporting gigabit. Two parts: One at the router and the other at the computer. Both wired and wireless. Again reviews are helpful.

The ATHEROS driver you want is the AR7010 I looked it up to find out. I tried to test it but my 360 Adapter is broken so I have no idea if it will wok but you can try. If nothing else there is a related adapter AR9271 that may or may not come in handy. Good Luck to all that find this helpful.

The question is about Xbox 360 network adapters, and the link to drivers is for Xbox 360 wireless controllers.  Do you have a link to Windows drivers for the Xbox 360 network adapter?

Microsoft needs to implement policies that prohibit support-bots. Sharief, from the looks of it, acts more like a support-bot (akin to what EA is doing) than a genuine person.

Oh, but Microsoft's gonna say, "Oh, we can't hire genuine support employees, they're too expensive and unreliable", and if they actually say it, I'm going to publicly call bullsnot on their airheaded claim.

And the billions of people who have been denied an official driver for the Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter (myself included) will realise that Microsoft was caught in their folly.

If they did this type of stuff whilst the Windows 9x series was being sold, Microsoft would have had a much bigger antitrust lawsuit slapped in their face and they would have been driven into bankruptcy.
