Thanks Bill,
Thanks for the link for the VLC media player. No problems playing a Musical CD or Movie.
But again its done manually and that is not what we need. We need for windows to recognize a disk and ask what we want to do.

Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit OS.
I have the Auto Play all set to Ask Me Ever Time.
Auto play will recognize a Program CD or DVD but does nothing on a Musical CD or DVD Movie.
Does anyone know what I can do to get Windows to recognize a Musical CD or DVD Movie?
Any suggestion or help will be appreciated.

Hi,
Windows 8.1 does not play DVDs.
""DVD playback options for Windows 8.1."
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/dvd-playback-help
"Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 Pro don't come with DVD movie playback capability. If you're runningWindows 8.1 or Windows 8.1 Pro, you can search for a DVD player app in the Windows Store (learn more about theWindows Store)."

I suggest that you look at using a different Media Player to view DVDs.

Cheers.
This would be unusual if it is happening with any Audio disc rather than just a particular one. Can you just confirm this happens with any disc? Thanks Ric.
We don't know what the file extension of the files on the music CD are that you are trying to play and if Windows has the correct Codecs to play it.
Thanks, Bill Smithers
That Cover's the DVD/Blue-Ray Movies. But what about a Musical CD?
