A few of our users, myself included, are getting the below message when they reply to or forward an email and then close the original

100300-image.png

I am on the outlook app , version 2105(Build 14026.20246 Click-to-Run). We are also an on prem environment.

Steps taken so far:

Ran outlook in safe mode - no change

Disabled all add ins - no change

Created a new outlook profile - no change

Created a new windows profile - no change

Ran all windows updates - no change

Disabled AV - no change

Rolled back to different versions of Outlook - no change

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @Cilian Roche ,

    Welcome!

I am using the same Outlook version as you and I operated the steps below to try reproducing your issue:

    1. Double click to open an email message in the mail list.
    2. Click "Reply" to edit and reply to this email message.
    3. Then close the original email message.

Everything seems just work fine and could not receive the warning pop up, failed to reproduce your issue.

In order to conduct further researches about your issue, please try to provide us with more detailed information about your issue:

    • What specific operations did you do before you receive the warning popup? The same as what I did above?
    • I noticed that you mentioned that a few users in your organization have the same issue. Are these problematic users using the same Outlook version? Do these problematic users have anything in common? If you have any update about this issue, please feel free to post back.

We have the same issue with some users.
I had a user running 16.0.13901.20366 (64 bit), so it seems to me that they hadn't been updated recently.
Upgraded him to 16.0.14026.20202 (2105 (Build 14026.20246 Click-to-Run) (same as what I am running)

Same issue. Opening an email in a new window, reply all, a blank but addressed draft ends up in the drafts folder, close both messages and the properties changing window pops up.

Safe mode does not resolve it.

    All:

Rolling back to version 16.0.12527.21912 worked for me and the other users experiencing this issue.

    Command :

    "C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\officec2rclient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.12527.21912

This fixed it for me, but it moved the search box above the inbox and took away some of the more advanced search functions. I then updated it back to 16.0.14026.20202 and the problem went away. That also fixed an issue with search that I had been having.
