Trying to print but "print to file" keeps popping up!! I'm unable to print.

Everytime I try printing, my Library folder pops up for me to save the document. I'm NOT trying to print to file. Also, the "print to file" check box isn't selected in the printing window so I don't understand why it keeps popping up! Help anyone?

    What is "the .prn message"?

Either tell us the exact and entire message or if you read the following link you can include a screenshot of the message:

How to include a screenshot in your post

Perhaps installing TT or Adobe or Chrome has changed your default printer setting to print to a file instead of the printer of your desire.

Look in Control Panel, Devices and Printers and make sure the Default printer is set to what you want (green check mark):

    Hi,

    ·         Have you made any changes prior to the issue?

    ·         What is the make and model of the printer?

    ·         From which application are you trying to print?

    ·         Are you facing this issue while printing file using particular application or all?

I would suggest you run the printer troubleshooter and check if it helps:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-the-Printer-troubleshooter

If troubleshooter does not fix the issue then post back with the required information so that we can assist you better.

This happened to me when I was using Turbo Tax and it suggested I download adobe  and also suggested downloading Google Chrome which I did. Now I can'tget it to stop giving the .prn message.

Every time I've ever tried to use Chrome I have problems but don't know that that caused it.  Or if it was the Adobe..

I know one thing, I'm sick of it.

    Hi Norma,

Since this thread is quite old, we suggest creating a new thread about the issue for better assistance.

    Thanks.
