Is it possible to get a straight forward answer to a straight forward question!!

Where do we download the driver from and will it cover the Mini Viewer under W10?

I am having the identical issue after upgrading to Windows 8.1.

My XPS MiniViewer minimally works.  The windows update does not have a KB number just the driverid from the linke driverid=6023.

Method 1 and Method 2 did not product any different results.  The update still produces the error.  Here is what is logged in the update history.

The link is broken due to Microsoft decommissioning the WinQual servers.

How can we manually download this driver from Microsoft ?

    Hi Ogleva,

Just a few questions first, to get a clear picture of the issue:

    1)      Is the XPS mini viewer working now?

    2)      Do you get this error when trying to install the driver update? What is the KB number of the update?

If you receive Windows Update error 800b0001, it means that Windows Update or Microsoft Update cannot determine the cryptographic service provider. To fix this issue. I would suggest you to try these steps and check:

    Method 1: Update troubleshooter

The built-in update troubleshooter can automatically detect and fix most of the errors and incorrect settings that could cause issues with updates. Refer to these steps to run this troubleshooter:

    a)      Press Windows key +F to bring up the search Charms bar.

    b)      Select settings in the drop down menu below search and type Troubleshooting.

    c)       Click on Troubleshootingand select the view all option on the left pane.

    d)      Click on Windows update troubleshooter and follow the prompts.

    Method 2:

If you are still unable to download the updates, then I would suggest you to try the following steps and check:

    a)      Open command prompt by pressing Windows key + X and selecting “Command prompt admin”.

    b)      In command prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each command.

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    c)       Close the command prompt after this step.

You have also enquired if you can install this update manually. The link provided seems to be a broken link. I would suggest you to check if the update is available in the manufacturer’s website and install it only from the manufacturer’s website. Installing any driver from third party websites may install unknown security threats that might corrupt your computer.

Try these steps and let us know the results. We’d be happy to help if you need any further assistance.

I have the same issue. Windows 8.1 fresh install cant find any driver for my dellXPS-420 mini viewer which worked a treat under windows 8. What is the issue and if no solution available cant you release the windows 8 driver for manual installation under windows 8.1 compatibility mode.
