Hello, I have an Acer Laptop that came with windows 10. Last night I went to shut down and it said there was an update so I clicked on it...it updated and shut down. This morning when I turned it started downloading forever and I knew something was wrong.  It then showed me CREATOR was installed. Which I had no idea it was going to do that. I called support and he confirmed that I had downloaded creator. I saw that nothing CREATOR has I was going to use (I ONLY EMAIL AND SURF) and my laptop starting runner slower. So I need to remove this and get back to my windows 10. Can anyone tell me if I can do this and how? I've read that if I remove it somehow I might loose files and other things on my laptop. Please be very specific as I am not very technical. Thank you in advance.

    Hi,

To resolve the issue, we suggest that you perform a system restore. This option takes your device back to an earlier point in time. Restore points are generated when you install a new app, driver, or Windows update, and when you create a restore point manually. Restoring won’t affect your personal files, but it will remove apps, drivers, and updates installed after the restore point was made.

To perform a system restore, perform these steps:

    1. Press and hold (or right-click) the Start  button, and then select Control Panel.
    2. In the Search Control Panel box in the top right, type Recovery.
    3. Select Recovery > Open System Restore > Next.
    4. Choose the restore point related to the problematic app, driver, or update, and then select Next > Finish.

Let us know if you need more help.

    Regards.

Click start, type CMD, press Enter.

    Type winver, press Enter.

If it states the version is 1703 then you're still on Creators update.  If it's a lower number (eg: 1607 for Anniversary update) then you're on the older version.

A word of warning though, if you're on a home version (can you confirm?) then Windows 10 will keep trying to keep you up to date and keep trying to install the update along with all the other security updates.  Might be worth going with the update and trying to establish why your laptop ran slow?
