a black line has appeared across my screen,can i get rid of it

turned it off and on. no joy.

Hi,

EIther the monitor or the video card is probably bad. If you switch monitors and it's still there, then it's the video card. Either way, you're likely going to need to replace one or the other.

    Black horizontal lines from top from left to right. slowly stretching across the monitor.

    I read your reply but how do the things that you say to check and know where to fine them, I don't know that much aboutcomputer that is why I am alwas looking foranswer from someone like you adother my ruby underdue smith, if there is anyone out there who know anything about computer and now how to get the line off of my screen then please contract me back at my gmail accout it is listed as ******@gmail.com

    I have an intel Pentium (R) dual core the CPU speed is 3.00Ghz(although it does not seem to be) 4 GB RAM  Windows 10 pro 64-bit  graphic driver is NVidia GeForce GT 610 (latest driver installed) I have a vertical black line appearing in the middle-right side of my computer screen I have an LG monitor. I am using a desktop. I am facing this for around like 15 days. First the line was a brown line but changed to light green sometimes. And when I pressed slightly behind the monitor the line disappeared, Now its completely back and does not change the color, whatsoever and it does not disappear when I press slightly at the back of the monitor...... And yes this PC is pretty, its old around like 10 years!!! How can I fix this problem myself?

    Hi everyone, 

    I'm having issue in my laptop screen and that is on the left corner next to the laptop screen panel, a thick white or sometimes a combination of yellow and pink colored vertical line is showing  I've an HP Pavilion Notebook AB029TX model. So, please help me what can I do?
