The yellow exclamation on wd external usb drive is identified as " WD SES driver ".

I fixed that problem by clicking on one of these links below to download wd ses driver.

https://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/16696/

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows\_7-hardware/solve-a-problem-with-wd-ses-device/df9f5c79-b6cf-4f90-a50c-813dfc38a1da?db=5

Once driver downloaded.

Go to Device Manager, right click on the device which have yellow exclamation. Click on "update driver". Click on "let me chose driver in my computer ". Then, brows and click on the downloaded wd ses driver.

It not working for the first time. don't give up. keep trying. Failed. Restart pc and give it a try again and again.

For my case, after many  time of trying, windows 7 displays " windows has successfully  installed the device driver ", and the yellow exclamation just disappear. It took me 5 hours.

ouf. with perseverence and the problem identified. we can fixe the yellow exclamation.

Thank you for giving me new solution.

But, today when I connect a new EAsystore which I get an exchange from the store, windows 7 start the process of installing new device and pop up an Checkdisk with a result no problem found on this new disk. The yellow exclamation is still display on the Easystore at Devices and Printers.

I can but files in and out of that drive, but the yellow exclamation is still there.

I tried to connect a Pastport external which I had used it for years on Windows 10. It also receive an yellow exclamation too.

I may let you know that I just used a brand new SSD Samsung on which I installed a version of windows 7. Even that new installed version received up date couple time right after the installation. Easystore still have yellow exclamtaion.

Please let me know if you have any new solution.

Thank you again for your time trying to solve my problem.

We appreciate you providing us those information, Hang.

However, we will need to know if your Windows 7 and drivers are up-to-date.

Meanwhile, let's check your hard disk for errors. You can refer to this link for the steps.

We'll be waiting for your update.

    Thank you.

    Hi Hang,

The issue you're experiencing might be due to a variety of reasons, one is due to a device issue itself.

Having said that, please provide the answers to the following for us to be able to learn more about your concern:

    • Is your Windows 7 updated?
    • Are your drivers up-to-date? If not, you can follow the steps found on this link on how to get recommended drivers and updates for your hardware.
    • Have you tried plugging the external hard drive to a different PC? If yes, did the same issue occur?
    • Have you tried clicking the icon where a "yellow exclamation point" is appearing? If yes, what is the exact error message you're seeing?

In the meantime, running the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter finds and repairs problems with recording sound. Here's how to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter:

    1. Click the Start icon, then select Control Panel.
    2. Choose the Large icons option from the View by drop down list found on the upper-right part of the Control Panel window.
    3. Locate then select Troubleshooting.
    4. Click View all from the left pane.
    5. Locate and click Hardware and Devices to run the troubleshooter then follow the next steps.

To make sure that you're not experiencing an account specific issue, kindly create another administrator account and observe if the issue will still be present.

Let us know the result of the above mentioned troubleshooting steps.

    Regards.
