toshiba usb dvb-t/analog hybrid tuner

I have looked at all the posts regarding this issue of the driver not installing on startup. All of the options available do not work.

I then went onto the Toshiba website put in model and serial numbers correctly and this states that not valid. Is this computer too old?

    To make things worse the manufacturer (my fathers computer) TOSHIBA offers no support and haven't been for years for this particular model.

    I just thought I'd try again after around 4 years since last maintenance.

    No drivers available at all except outdated BIOS v2.7.

    I have the same problem and  it had been running perfectly fine on windows7 for years until a recent update that had nothing to do with it. .Windows 7 keeps trying to install an update for my driver but it keeps failing ?

    If the tuner is old the manufacturers of its chipset will not have any reference drivers for Windows 7. Without such drivers it will never work with Windows 7 and you will need a new tuner.

    Device Manager may show what chipset it has. If so, search to find which Windows versions have drivers available.

    I have tried windows update and this appears to be the problem, the update keeps failing to install.

    Will try to contact Toshiba soon. Thanks for help

    In that case try contact Toshiba support and ask them and also run Windows Update and install all update.
