Hi,

I have a laptop that runs on Windows 8.1 with DirectX 11. It was working fine till last week when i tried to open DirectX Diagnostic Tool, a window pops up saying "DxDiag has detected that there might have been a problem accessing DirectShow the last time this program was used. Would you like to bypass DirectShow this time?" When i click Yes, nothing happens and i could view the tool, but when i click No, the tool stops working!!! I couldn't find a solution for this anywhere. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Thanks

    Hello Jerry,

Usually the error message ***"DxDiag has detected that there might have been a problem accessing DirectShow the last time this program was used. Would you like to bypass DirectShow this time"***cause is DirectX incorrectly installed on your computer. Due to this you're having a problem accessing DirectShow on your computer. We recommend installing the latest version of DirectX by following the solution on this link.

Once you're done, let us know the result.

Since the issue persists after using another user account, we suggest that you install the latest driver for your display adapter. Another reason why DxDiag is crashing is that the driver is not up to date. You can visit this link. From there, you'll see a simple guide on how to install the latest driver for your display adapter.

We hope the information we provided helps.

    Still it shows the same.

    Hi Jerry,

One reason why DxDiag crashes when pressing No on the pop up is that of a corrupted user profile. For us to resolve this issue, we suggest that you try to run DxDiag using a different user account.

If you don't have another user account on your computer, you can visit this article. From there, you'll see a simple guide on how to create a user account in Windows 8.1

Let us know how it goes.
